2 mircon fuel filter, f/w sep upgrade under 100.00
« on: November 04, 2012, 03:24:15 PM »
wrapping up my fuel filter setup been useing the stock GM for f/w sep and the bf7587 as primary fillter..with a service interval on a C15 about 25,000 miles... im looking at changing them every 75k or so

wix 24770 (30.00 through summit) no peecock(1/8"npt needed on a 6.5 engine) did put one on to bleed the filter but not need on a dmax with electric pump
baldwin BF7587 or wix 33674 primary fuel filter (18.00 summitracing)
baldwin BF1259 or wix 33406 w/f secondary (20.00 summitracing)
1/2" npt by 3/8" (x1) barb and 1/2"npt by 1/2" (x3)barb couplers
3 1/2"npt x 3/8" needed for 3/8" fuel system.
summit and napa carry wix filters for those that dont know
still useing the 6.5 lift pump works just fine

due to the way the o/f housign is located on my dmax i cant run a B7... have to run a B1441 with drain back valve. did run B7 when it was a 6.5

great idea,  those look like the cat 2 micron filter..  something else to add to my to do list...

dont know how much fuel the duramax uses but the 6.5 lift pump was hurting my fuel pressure its a low flow pump..   cummins pump alot of fuel to the injection pump at 40psi,  to keep the pump cool..

it is a 2 micron baldwin versions

the 6.5 lift pump wont keep up at WOT.. at at part throttle is fine.. will be replacing with something else..  possibaly this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/qft-30-175/overview/

need to get tires on the back first.
