Yes I thought about trying to find a dana 80 rearat the junk yard. Rebuild then have it ready if needed. Ialso see that the older ford 450 have a rockwell drop axle in the front.

Buut for now it seems to be a good rear

the 3500hd and the p30-p32 chassis are very simmilar lots of suspension parts interchange, rockwell  c103's were used in the box vans/motorhomes  for a number of years,  they are stout but parts are $$$ and gear ratio availabilty is limited..  I have one here out of a box van if I can ever find a 3.31 gear set for it it will replace my dana 80..  but a 3.54 dana works well, just have to watch the carrier shims with alot of hp..  I have a 5.9 cummins swap so if I tow real heavy the dana doesn't like it...
