Fifth wheel hitch placement
« on: October 25, 2014, 07:45:26 PM »
Hi I apologise in advance if I'm in the wrong section or missed finding the answer I need within another section. That being said I have a 1995 3500 HD diesel with the 159.5" wheel base. I have a husky 16 k U.B.S fifth wheel hitch and a universal installation kit. I have looked high and low for information on trailer king pin to rear axle relationship and have been given answers from directly over to 4.5 " in front of the rear axle. Hoping to find someone on here that has the hands on right answer. Have found all the info I need if it was just a 3500 with a box. But no info for the Beast version HD!!!  Also my hitch is in brand new condition never installed but an older version built by Valley which leads to a dead end for information from the manufacturer.

I go by 4" ahead of the center of the rear axle. Help put some weight on the front wheels.

Thank you for the input very much appreciated. I was leaning that direction with all that space to the cab.
